Technology Programs

Overview

Eden Housing has been at the forefront of digital technology since the 1990s when we began opening computer-learning centers on-site for resident use. Today, we offer a variety of digital learning opportunities for residents of all ages.

  • Digital Connectors Technology and Leadership Program Since 2004, over 700 at-risk youth ages 14-19 have graduated from this successful program that promotes digital literacy, youth leadership and community service. Youth increase their access to higher education and career opportunities through improved academic performance and exploration of technology and digital arts fields.
  • Generation Exchange This program connects the young and the young-at-heart. "Digital Connector" teens volunteer on a weekly basis to teach their senior neighbors basic computer skills, such as how to email and navigate the Internet, helping to reduce isolation and depression. Youth are able to apply leadership skills and engage with aging adults in meaningful ways, building self-esteem and fostering new friendships that are mutually rewarding.
  • Communities Wired! Our newest initiative promotes digital literacy and broadband adoption across all Eden Housing communities. We are educating and inspiring our residents—with special attention to seniors, people with special needs and English speaking minorities—to utilize broadband access at home to improve their social, physical, educational and financial well-being.
