Support Affordable Housing in Castro Valley

Eden Housing is proud to bring 72 affordable homes to Castro Valley. The proposed property “Ruby Street Apartments” will be located on Ruby Street between A Street and Crescent Avenue. This site was formerly owned by Caltrans as surplus land and acquired by Eden in April 2019.

The proposed apartments will provide new homes to families earning between 20% and 60% of the median income for Alameda County. For example, a family of four earning between $24,000 and $74,000 annually would qualify for one of our high-quality, service-enriched homes.

Ruby Street Apartments will showcase many ‘green’ features, including solar PV panels, solar thermal hot water, drought-resistant landscaping, and connections for charging electric vehicles. The development will also include a pedestrian-bicycle trail along San Lorenzo Creek that will be accessible to the public.

If you are interested in supporting this affordable housing development, please consider attending an upcoming Castro Valley Municipal Advisory Council’s Land Use Committee hearing. Sign up here to receive an alert with further details on the hearing. We look forward to seeing you there.
