Health and Wellness

At Eden Housing we understand that chronic diseases such as asthma, heart disease and diabetes disproportionately burden older adults, the poor, and communities of color. Many face financial, cultural and linguistic barriers to accessing high quality health programs. These individuals, particularly seniors, also show tendencies towards isolation and depression. Eden Housing Resident Services programs promote healthy aging in place, access to wellness education and classes, active lifestyles and social interaction with others.
Currently Eden Housing partners with a variety of service providers to bring health and safety classes, nutrition and food assistance, gardening, fitness classes and more to our communities. This includes visits from local nursing students and other groups to provide clinics and presentations on a range of health-related topics such as healthy eating and nutrition, managing diabetes, controlling high blood pressure and cholesterol levels and the importance of incorporating physical exercise into daily routines.

Aging in Place for Seniors and Residents with Special Needs

Eden Housing provides a range of services and programming designed to meet the specific and unique needs of our senior and special needs residents. The overall intention of these programs is to promote “aging in place” and independent living in a dignified, healthy and productive way.
To reach this goal, we tailor programs to individual needs and encourage community building and self-reliance.
In our current portfolio, more than 70% of our residents are 70+ years old, a testament to our ability to provide housing and services that allows our seniors to age in place gracefully.
Eden is fortunate to have a strong network of social service provider partners throughout California. We rely on these partners to enhance our services and expose our residents to critical resources available in local communities.
